Evans wondergoal almost wins the day!
Thurnham opened much brighter than the previous week and looked fairly comfortable through the first half. Clear chances were limited despite pressure from both attacks, however a cracking strike from Steve Warren opened the scoring and edged Thurnham into a deserved lead. Farleigh later replied and the game became tight, with Steve Warren coming closest hitting the bar rebounding onto the line, adjudged to not have crossed the game finished one-all. Extra time was keenly fought either side could have taken the lead, all changed following a sending off and Thurnham were down to 10. However, the home side continued to make chances and with a unbelieveable strike from midfield workhorse Danny Evans with just 10 minutes left appeared to put Thurnham through. Tiredness and the extra man proved too much and Farleigh replied with two late goals to steal the tie. Perry Luck deserves credit with some outstanding saves to keep the game alive and a solid first half from new signing Michael Carr at the back. Farleigh go on to play RKP in the next round.
