A heavy rain soaked Mereworth pitch saw Thurnham play host to Kingshill Spitfires in a closely fought mid-table contest. Conditions made playing quality football difficult, although it was Kingshill who had the better of the first half converting a neatly worked move with a fine finish in the roof of the net from Michael Brookwell.
.
Second period saw Thurnham reorganise and closed the gaps exposed in the first period. Some good moves created several attempts at goal within a few minutes were rewarded with a rasping shot from Steve Warren to equalise. Perry Luck had a fine game in goal for Thurnham once again, as the sides stayed level. Best chance fell to Kingshill in the last minute of injury time, following a poor clearance an open goal beckoned only for the ball to be hit wide. Honours shared probably a fair result.
