Both Thurnham and RKP Reserves had shown good form in recent weeks, this promised and proved to be a closely fought encounter. Clear chances were limited Thurnhams best being, Andy ' ref did you see that' Lind crashing a header against the underside of the bar, Clyde 'mr midfield' Williams had a long range effort pushed round the post, RKP replied with a 30 yard shot also hitting the woodwork. However, it was Steve 'golden boot' Warren, with an assist from inform Justin 'did you see my assist' Taylor, who’s goal split the sides, with 15 minutes left, with a busy last quarter Thurnham held on to the 1 -0 lead.  A welcome return to Michael 'Butch' Carr at the back adding to a solid defence.
